My name is Clare Brown and my main responsibility as a governor is in my position as Chair of the Nursery Committee, an enjoyable and rewarding role. This committee provides a strategic input into the running and development of Steps to School Day Nursery. I have been a governor for 7 years.
I have four children. My eldest sons are now at school in Maidstone and my younger children, Harry and Cara, are in years 5 and reception at Borough Green. I am an English teacher in the Post Compulsory Sector.

LA Governor- term expires July 2013
I have been a Governor at Borough Green for just over ten years and started as I wanted to put something back into the school that was doing so much to help my young children both excel and enjoy in their education.  Two of my children are now in secondary schools in Maidstone, with my youngest at Borough Green in year 4.  I am a qualified accountant and have chaired the finance committee in the past and currently chair the governing body.
We have a extremely able and well balanced governing body in terms of skills.

Steven Gorst
Headteacher
I have worked in primary education for over 30 years and was appointed as Headteacher of Borough Green in 2002.  Prior to that for 11 years I was Deputy Headteacher and Acting Headteacher of a very large primary school in Bromley.  I have worked in 4 different local authorities and am currently also working as a School Improvement Partner supporting three schools in Brighton and Hove.
I am very pleased to be Headteacher of Borough Green Primary.  We have a tremendous team supporting our children and, I believe, we are a happy school that always does its best to give all children an enjoyable and high quality primary school experience.

Judith Moat
Staff Governor- term expires...September 2011
I have worked at Borough Green for 20 years. I started teaching in Key Stage 2 and then moved to Key Stage 1 after a few years where I happily remain. I was pleased to take up the position as Head of Key Stage 1. I have, in recent years, been Acting Deputy Head alongside Mrs Sandberg.  I have been a governor for 3 years.
All my children went through the school and, now grown up, are following successful careers, one as a policewoman in the local area, one as an accountant and one teaches at Borough Green in Key Stage 2. Much of their success I know is down to the excellent start they were given at Borough Green.
I continue to enjoy every day of my work and hope to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.

Partnership Governor- term expires…August 2011
I am a partnership governor and also the Vice Chair of the Governing Body. I have a lifelong commitment to education, having been a teacher in both Primary and Secondary schools before becoming Dean of Teacher Education and then Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Greenwich.
I live in Borough Green and my wish to contribute to the community led me to apply to join the Governing body in 1998. I am the longest serving governor and, when I offered to stand down, to ensure that new talent was not denied the opportunity to join the Governing Body, was delighted and proud to have the proposal declined! I currently serve as chair of the Personnel and the Head Teacher Performance Review Committees. I have a particular interest in the teaching of literacy and French in the school and in all aspects of assessment.

Community Governor- term expires…February 2014
I have lived in Borough Green for almost four years now and have two children at Borough Green school, in Year one and in Pre-school so my time at the school has only just begun.  I have been an active member of the PA since reception and am hoping to continue with that being a link between the PA and governors.  I am also a Community Responder for South East Coast Ambulance Service, working as a volunteer to respond to emergency 999 calls in and around Borough Green.
I am new to the position of Community Governor and am a member of the Curriculum Committee so I have lots to learn and look forward to the challenge.

My name is Jane Rolfe and I have been a governor for over ten years. I currently chair the Curriculum Committee which I enjoy very much. This committee is in place to provide a strategic overview of the National Curriculum being delivered to all children within the school. I also sit on the Personnel and Admissions Committee. I have lived in Borough Green for most of my life and attended the school myself. I have three children including two boys who now attend Maidstone Grammar School and Katie who is in Year 5. They have all benefitted from the positive school ethos of Borough Green Primary School. I am a primary school teacher and am currently teaching in Key Stage 2.

I have lived in Borough Green for 7 years and work for Russet Homes. I have been a community governor for 4 years and have just commenced a second term of office. I formally lived in Staffordshire where I was a school secretary and staff governor at a local primary school. I am Chair of the Admissions committee and a member of the Finance and Nursery committees. I have enjoyed the challenge of integrating the nursery into the school and introducing the pre school facility for the benefit of the children living in Borough Green and surrounding areas.  The school is really at the heart of the community. I am proud to be a governor and look forward to the school's continuing development and success.
